How to Make Vegetable Noodles

Pasta is delicious. I could absolutely eat it everyday without a problem! But in my never-ending quest to figure out how to make all of my favorite meals healthier, I came across this amazing tool: Spiral Vegetable Slicer (aka spiralizer!). It’s super easy to use and makes your favorite pasta dishes much healthier.

As you can guess from the name, it turns vegetables or fruits into spiraled, curley, strands – but for this example, pasta-like noodle strands! I’ve found that butternut squash holds up the best (texture-wise) to actual spaghetti, but zucchini does a great job as well for a pasta replacement. It’s also a great tool to use to add a fun texture to veggies for salads, soups, and other dishes or to use as a curly fry maker. Make fruits more fun for kids to eat by serving them snacks that are curled, like curly apples.

To make beautiful-looking salads like this one that I make all the time, I use this tool with carrots and broccoli stems (peel them first), then my creamy Thai dressing on top!

It’s so easy to use too.

Just place the vegetable or fruit in the prongs of the crank on one end, and the blade on the other end.

Then, just crank the handle and BAM! Perfect spiral strands and curled julienne strips are created. There are 3 blades to play with for different cuts. Check it out!
