food processor

Cooking healthy meals at home is so important to our health, and there are already a million other things we try to squeeze into our day, so naturally I’m a huge fan of appliances to make my time in the kitchen more efficient and easier. If you’re looking for an affordable appliance to add to your collection, I’d recommend getting a food processor. Even a smaller one would do just fine, no need to spend big bucks and take up half your counter space.

It took me some time to convince my husband that this was a necessary purchase, since we already had a blender (which was his argument against it!). But there are SO many things you can make with the food processor that would typically just get clogged at the bottom of your blender if you tried using that.

Here are some delicious healthy foods you can make with it: homemade salsa, hummus, pesto, sauces, quickly and uniformly chop vegetables, breadcrumbs, peanut (or any nut) butter, ground meat for the freshest tasting burgers, baby food, and tons more!

The Cuisinart 4-Cup Food Processor is what I have. It doesn’t take up a ton of room in the kitchen and is cheaper than its larger counterparts. Don’t get me wrong about blenders, I have a Blendtec which I LOVE for making smoothies and juices and big batches of soups/sauces, but the food processor is great for everything else.
