Most cow’s milk has measurable quantities of herbicides, pesticides, dioxins, up to 52 powerful antibiotics, blood, pus, feces, bacteria and viruses. Ewww!!! 

Almond milk is a great non-dairy milk alternative. It’s low in calories and fat, and has a high number of vitamins and minerals. Pick up some organic almond milk the next time you go shopping, or try this easy recipe:

– Soak 1 cup of almonds in water for at least 8 hours
– Drain and discard the soaking water
– Blend 3.5 cups of filtered water, the soaked almonds, and ½ tsp of vanilla (optional) very well, until smooth.
– Pour the blended mixture into a cheesecloth or nut bag and squeeze the bottom of the bag to get the milk out. It takes a couple of minutes to get it all out!

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
