These are perrrfect for satisfying your chocolate cravings on a super hot summer day.
Did you love fudgesicles as a kid? I definitely did. Not only is this version a healthified take on the traditional fudgesicle (which contains ingredients like high fructose corn syrup and solids, tricalcium phosphate, diglycerides, cellulose and guar gum, polysorbate 80 and 65, and carrageenan – yummmm….) but it’s loaded with lots of BONUS hidden health benefits!
Eating chocolate is making you healthier. How fun is that?!
For starters, it contains a very special ingredient I use daily: collagen peptides. It’s a magical super-supplement that is vital to our health, and comes with so many health benefits.
Here’s the deal: collagen is the most abundant protein in the body. It’s found in muscles, bones, skin, blood vessels, digestive system and tendons. It’s what helps give our skin strength and elasticity, along with replacing dead skin cells. When it comes to our joints and tendons, in simplest terms, it’s the “glue” that helps hold the body together.
Our body’s collagen production naturally begins to slow down as we age, and we can see this in ways like wrinkles, sagging skin and joint pains. Other factors like eating excess processed sugar, smoking, and lots of sun exposure also deplete collagen faster.
That’s why it’s great to replenish when we can with high quality supplementation. Each serving contains 20g of protein that is super easily assimilated and absorbed into our body.
Along with support strengthening our skin and reducing joint pain/degeneration, collagen also improves our hair/nails/teeth, our gut, boosts metabolism, gives an energy boost, improves our liver and heart health, balances our hormones, and more!
Best part is – it has NO flavor to it. Especially if you get a high quality one like this one I use. Since there’s so much protein per serving and no flavor, it’s awesome to add to protein shakes instead of a traditional protein powder.
This recipe also has healthy fats from the full fat coconut milk (or you can use plain Greek yogurt, but it’ll be less creamy) to rev up your metabolism and help balance your hormones, improve your brain health, and more, and loads of healthy goodness from cacao powder.
They’re so easy to make too. All you do is throw the ingredients in a blender, process until they’re smooth, add to a popsicle mold (if you don’t have one you can grab a popsicle mold on Amazon), and ENJOY!
